There are varities of fruits available in different parts of the world with different tastes,shapes colour and sizes.Some belong to melon types,some are berries,some are drupe and so on.Today i will deal with the nutrition and the benifits of eating right amount of fruits and what are its effects on the systems.



1.Apple:
Botanical name-Malus sylveslris
Family- Rosaceae

Uses

It make be used as a fruit or juice may even be extracted for medicinal purposes.

It has got the hydrating affect on the body.Good while travelling also because quite comman that people avoid drinking water while travelling.so by eating apples it keeps oneself hydrates and also gives intstant glucose in form of fructose.
-has got diuretic effect.That is increases urine output.

Rich sources of vitamins and minerals

It contains malic acid which is easily absorbed by the body

The peal of the apple contains /is rich in vitamin -c

Pulp is a rich source of vitamin -A

The inner pulp of an apple contains 'pectin' in itwhich helps in detoxification as it provides galacturonic acid

Prevents decomposition and elimination of protiens from the interstine during the course of digestion

Helps in anemia to increase the Heamoglobin level to a little extent as ita a rich source of iron

In constipation and diarrhoea also its helpful.Raw apples - 1-2 full helps in constipation problem.the same if baked or cooked helps in diarrhoea[as cooking process softens cellulose in the apples]

All of us are facing the problem with hairfall,lack of shine and nourishment to the hair,lusterless hair etc.....
Well friends here is a easy remedy to all of you with this problems.

Step 1:

First of all friends take some oil ,i prefer coconut oil in a small cup and keep in over a boiling water for 5 mins till the oilbecomes slightly warm.

Then take a cotton swab and dip it in the warm oil and then seperate your hair follicles in vertical and horizontal strips and apply the oil to the scalp.

After this with the finger tips massage the scalp slowly and gently in circular fashion for 10 mins.
Then comb you rhair gently for about 5 mins .

Benifit:

This increases the blood supply to the scalp and also helps in uniformly oiling your scalp.


Step 2:

Take some fresh tender leaves and flowers of hibiscus( any type).

Then wash and clean the leaves, bleand into a thick paste by adding enough water.

Then apply it to the scalp and then to entire hair ,keep this mixture in the hair for 15 mins and then take bath.

First pour about 3-4 mugs of water and allow the hair to soften.Then slowly rince the hair with only warm water then go for mild shampoo or any thing of your choise.

Quick solutions for skin problems

Most of the youngsters and middle aged people are worried about thier looks,skin texture etc.so today i shall reveal some secrets about the skin care.

For marks& scars:

Paste made up of mint leaf of about 1 tsp,1 tsp lemon juice,maida and milk.All mixed together and form a uniform smooth paste and apply this as a face pack and retain it for 15 mins .Then rince with luke warm water.


For marks and glow:

Daily application of fresh milkcream1tsp with 1/2 tsp of honey and pinch of turmeric.All mixed and applied like a face pack helps to regain the normal glow,reduces the marks and scars .Makes the skin moist and smooth,also helps in improving complextion.

Application of aloevera pulp with a pinch of salt and turmeric helps in cleansing the skin and moisturises the skin.

Properly riped banan should be squesed properly,add 3 drops of honey and then mix.Apply this as a thick face pack.Daily application helps in improving the complexion,glow,softens the skin,removes sun burns.

Best medicine for loose motion in Ayurveda

Treatment:

1.Pomegranate fruit is a well known tasty fruit with beautiful colour.This has a unique medicinal property.This fruit taken in any for acts as a instant medicine.May be as a juice, Or fruit as a whole.


2.For the best effect, a strong decoction of the sun dried peal of Pomegranate is good.

Take about 3,4 pieces of the dried peal and add about 2 cups of water to it and boil in a medium heat without closing the mouth of the vessel.Cane sugar or sugar grystals can be added about 2 cubes,and reduce this decoction to1/2 cup.consume this 1 hr after your meal.

3.The same dried peal can be even powdered and kept in a airtight container .This powder can be take with thick curds .Take about 1/2 tsp of this powder and add this to 1 cup thick curds and consume it in empty stomach

4.The strong decoction of tea i.e black tea also helps to stop the loose stools.

5.Curds by itself is also a medicine.Note that i am speaking of fresh sweet curds that is prepared thatday it should not be sour, in all the above cases.

Dear friends note that loose stools should not be stopped untill and unless its severe.If you tend to pass the stools 3-4 times then donot go for these measure.Just take a bit of curds, then keep drinking lots of water and lime juice with sugar and pinch of salt diluted with water.


6.When the patient experiences stomach upset for more than 1 day then i recomment a special medicine.This is a folklore medication easy to prepare and yummy too,

-Take about 1 large onion,chop lenght wise into thin pieces
-Then in a pan add 2-3 tsp of ghee .

Siddha Medicine - for Hair Problems

The Siddhars have classified diseases as 4,448 in number and prescribed medicines in the form of herb, roots, salts, metals and mineral compounds. They formulated methods to process metals, minerals, herbs and natural raw materials to make churnams, chenthurams and leyhams, etc. (Churnam is in the form of powder, leyham is in the form of a thick paste). Siddha practitioners claim that there is mention of treating AIDS in the writings of the Siddhars. AIDS was called "Vettai Noi" in the Siddha parlance. 

Kuppaimeni (Acalypha Indica) and coconut oil ½ litre each is taken. Root of kuppaimeni 35 gm is cleaned and ground to a fine paste. This is added to the coconut oil. Again add kuppaimeni juice to the oil and heat the whole mixture. Allow the mixture to boil for a while. Remove this from stove and allow it to cool. Filter the mixture and store the oil in a bottle. Apply this oil on head 15 minutes before you take bath. This too helps baldness.

1) Soak 10gms of dried Drakshai (Grapes) in water for some time and crush the Drakshai and take it at bed time.

2) Take 5 numbers of seemai Athippazham (country fig) at bed time.

3) Take papaya friut either with food or separately (except pregnant ladies)

4) Soak 5gms of Nilavarai leaves (indian senna leaves) in 129ml of water for sometimes, and make it as a decoction (30ml) and filter it and take it at bed time.

Siddha Medicine - For Vomiting

1) Soak Seeragam (cumin seed) in the lime juice and dry. Then Powder the seeragam nicely.

Dose : 500mg. Two times a day with honey.

2) Burn vasambu (acorus calamus) until it becomes coal and powder.

Dose : 200mg. with Honey.

3) Take equal quantity of juice of Mathulam Pazham (Pomegranate fruit) and cane suger. Boil till it becomes a syrup. Administer one teaspoonful twice daily.

1) For running nose, head - ache, boil Nochi leaves (vitex nigunku) in the water and place red hot brick on it. The vapour is inhaled by covering the body with a blanket.

2) Juice of Thumbai flower (Leucus) 2 drops may be instilled in nostrils which will produce sneezing, after which head - ache (due to cold) will be relived.

3) Produce smoke by putting Omam (Carun copticum) Milagu (pepper) poonhdu thole (rind of the galic) in fire and in hale the same.

Ayurveda Medicine - For Diarrhoea

1) Take the pulp of Bael fruit (bilva) along with some suger to relieve Diarrhoeas accompanied by stomach ache - 3 gms

2) Mix equal volumes of yellow wood sorrel leaf ( puliyarai) juice and butter milk and boil. Add 3gms of ajowan (omam) powder. it cures diarrhoeas and dysentery - 2 teaspoon.

3) Take powdered nut gall (masikkai) and mix with some honey 1gms.  3 doses will cure diarrhoes and dysentery in children.

4) Take Nutmeg ( jadikkai ) and tender mango leaves in equal parts by weight and make decoction. This is to be given with honey - l teaspoon.

5 ) Powder of nut grass tubers (korai Kizhangu) and Aswagand tubers (amukina kizhangu) in equal quantity is given with honey - 1 teaspoon

6) Long pepper (arisitippili) ground with milk is to be given for three days to treat  Chronic dysentery - 2gms

Ayurveda medicine - Coughs

1) Take the decoction of Adhatoda roots with some honey and powder of long pepper - 50ml. with 3 gms and 1 teaspoon honey.

2) Ginger juice with honey is also a good remedy - Half teaspoon with one teaspoon honey.

3) Take about 250 mg. of chebulic myrobalan (Kadukkai) powder with some honey or equal quantity of liquorice root powder (Athimadhuram). It cures cough with inflamed throat.

4) Leucus Leaf (tumbai) juice with honey is useful in whooping cough - Half teaspoonful with half teaspoon honey.

Ayurveda Medicine - For Pyrexia (Fever)

1) Decoction of Mollugo herb (Parpadakapul) 50 ml. relieves pyrexia.

2) Tinospora (Seenthilkodi) decoction with some black pepper powder will relieve chronic fever - 50ml. and 3 gms.

3) Sacred basil leaf (tulasi) juice and Leucus (tumbai) leaf juice along with some black pepper powder will cure periodic fevers - 2 teaspoon and 3gms.

Siddha Medicine - Iraippu Erumal ( Bronchical Asthma)

Step 1:  Keep 100 gms. of wheat in a mud pot, pour VEL ERUKKUNPAL (milk of Clotrpin gigantiea - White) and leave for a day and dry the same on next day, then fry and leave for a day and dry the same on next day, then fry and powdered it, administer a pinch from this, rolling with this in a betal leaf. No diet restriction.

Step 2 : Combine 2 Nanjaruppan (Tyolophore Indica leaf and 2 number of milagu (Pepper) and a piece of Chukku( Dry ginger ) to be taken in the morning along with milk.

Step 3 : Dried Oomathai flower (Datura alba) and make it as a cigar then Smoke. 

Note : If giddiness is noticed, avoid this method.

Siddha Medicine - For Cough

Step 1 : Take three leaves of Adathodai (Adathoda Vasica) cut them into small pieces, and put the pieces into a vessel. add two teaspoon full of honey and fry the content until some pleasent smell comes. At that stage add the following coarsely powdered Athimathuram (Jamaica liquorice) 2 gms. Thippli (Piper longum) 1 gm. Thalisapathri (flucourtia calaphracta) 1/2 gm., Chitharathai (galanga the lesser) 1/4 gm. then add 1/2 litre of water and boil, reduce to 60 ml.

Dose : 30 ml. two times a day.

Step 2 : Take 250ml. of water. Add the following drugs, Adathodai leaves (Adathoda Vasica) three numbers, Kandankathiri leaves (Solanum Xanthocarpum) five numbers. Thulasi (holy basil) leaves five numbers Thoothuvalai (Trilobatum) leaves ten numbers and 3 gms. of Athimathuram (Jamaica liguorice) after roughly powering them boil and reduce into 60ml.

Dose : 30ml. two times a day with honey.

Step 3 : 10gms. of the root of Thoothuvalai(Trilobatum), grind with Cow's Milk and to be taken in the morining.

Step 4 : Adathodai leaves juice 60ml.(Adathoda Vasica), Finely powdered Milagu(pepper)6gms. Perungayam (asafoetida) 1gm. mixed all and take in the morning and evening.

Step 5 : For Chronic cough, it will give relief when 2 gms. of chooranam (powder) which is made out of equal quantity of Kadukkai (chebulic myrobolan, lnk nut) and " Thippli" (Piper longum) is administered in honey twice daily.

Siddha Medicine - For Fever

For ordinary fever and intermittent fever the following decoction may be administered:

Preparation: -

Take nilavembu(Chiratta)leaves 15 gms. add 40 ml. of water boil and reduce to 50ml.and filter.

Dose: 50ml. 2 times or 3 times a day.

If fever is accompanied with body, 10 gms. of Arathai(Galanga the lesser), 2 gms of MILAGU(pepper) and 2 gms of CHUKKU (Dry Ginger) may be added for the above perparation. But the quantity of water to be increased proportionately.

If cough is present with fever, 15 gms. of Adathodai Leaves (Adathoda Vasica) may be added with the preparation.
